Lindsay Lohan's lawyer and the prosecutor in her grand theft case met with the judge in chambers yesterday and left without a plea bargain.
Prosecutor Danette Meyers wants Lindsay to get six months in jail, but LiLo's lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, is hoping for a lighter sentence.
Lohan, as we know, refuses any plea deal that involves her doing time. So we're at an impasse, but negotiations will continue this afternoon.

According to TMZ, Lindsay was given a continuance so she can have more time to mull over the Judge Keith Schwartz's offer, which involves jail time.
Schwartz had made it clear that if Lindsay doesn't cop a plea by today, he'd send the case off to a trial judge, where she'd have to take her chances.
But the judge is now allowing Lindsay more time to consider this.
The fact that Lindsay is even thinking about accepting Judge Schwartz' offer is huge, as she's been adamant up until now that she won't go to jail.
The probation thing is what really may stifle her bid to stay free.
If she were a first-time offender with no record, not only would she likely not be facing charges here, but wouldn't be in the same bind regardless.
Because the judge overseeing her probation for a 2007 DUI can revoke her probation, if she doesn't cop a plea, he can remand her into custody.
In other words, she could be sitting in a cell one way or the next.
Lindsay personally told TMZ late Wednesday, "I am ready for court tomorrow, and I believe that the truth will prevail through all of this."
