Scotty McCreery made us rethink putting him atop our American Idol rankings prior to last night. His rendition of "Swingin'" was alright, just not spectacular.
It was an odd choice, first of all, given that it's a John Anderson song from the '80s performed on 21st Century Night (yes, LeAnn Rimes covered it recently).
LeAnn's version wasn't a huge hit and neither was Scotty's. He had a blast and showed his considerable vocal skills, but somehow left us wanting more.
